Funk, jazz, psychedelic, progressive, disco, electro, shake and the rest cool music from USSR of the 1965-1985.

Muslim Magomayev — My city Baku (1973)

A funk act by very popular soviet singer Muslim Magomayev. The noteables are intro & strongness of his vocals, although I like the song entirely.

Author of music is well known composer Polad Bülbüloğlu (who is currently ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Russian Federation). I suppose, it’s not the least his apperance in the blog. The lyrics praises the city of Baku (Azerbaijan).

There is the youtube video also.

I can only say Фантастика too. The video was one of the first I saw on youtube: my sovfunk passion was also born from this song. Today I learn that Polad Bulbuloglu is the author, and my esteem for him rises moreagain. I liked him already for your Olya Rozhdestvenskaya song, but my favourite song of him is this gem http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5d8RA5qQ4j0

I got news there is a version of this song performed by Pollad Bulbuloglu. It's arranged very very similar to the version by Muslim. Would like to listen to it full.
